Giving Teens a Voice ...
a listening ear ... a caring heart ... and a helping hand.
Many teens have keen insights about issues they
face each day, but they think no one is interested in listening to them. We
listen and we give teens a means for their voices to be heard. A Teen Think Tank
provides an anonymous forum for teens to combine their creative brainpower and
heartpower to address various youth concerns.
Collectively, teens tackle some of the most
challenging issues of the day, all without fear of ridicule or peer pressure.
Using GroupSystems software for collaboration and group decision-making, the
teen participants work together to brainstorm, organize, evaluate, and
prioritize ideas.
The dramatic results of these Think Tanks are
compiled into reports and presented to school administrators and public
officials for potential action and implementation. The same process and
methodology may also be used to address many other issues and concerns facing
America's youth.
Teens explore the causes of school violence
In a think tank setting, diverse groups of teenagers work together,
collaboratively and anonymously, under the direction of an expert facilitator,
to identify the causes of violence and to develop innovative ways to prevent
violent behavior among youth.
